Privacy Policy

Last updated:

The short version

SkyMinute is built to work without tracking you. Astronomy calculations happen in your browser. We don't send your location to our servers, we don't have user accounts, and we don't use analytics that profile you.

What we collect

Third-party APIs your browser calls directly

When you use the app, your browser sends your location (rounded to ~10 km) to these public APIs to fetch real-time data. We do not proxy these requests through our servers.

Geolocation

If you tap "Use my exact location," your browser asks for permission and provides coordinates to the app. They are used only to calculate the sky for your spot and are stored only in your browser's localStorage. You can clear them anytime by tapping the location chip and choosing a different city, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Cookies

SkyMinute does not set cookies for tracking. We use localStorage and sessionStorage only to remember your chosen location and cache API responses for an hour — purely functional, not analytical.

Advertising

SkyMinute does not currently show ads. If we add ads in the future (likely Google AdSense), this policy will be updated to disclose what advertising partners collect and how to opt out, and we will require consent where the law requires it (EU/UK).

Children

SkyMinute is family-friendly and contains no content directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with the site in a way that requires action, contact us at the address below.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete. Server logs are automatically purged. For any privacy question, write to privacy@skyminute.com.

Changes

We'll update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
